Maneuver Ability is a game about moving around enemies and making it to the down stairs

You cannot directly damage enemies, but can bump into them to stun them for one turn and push them:

  • Pushing an enemy into an open square moves them backwards (non-floating enemies will die if pushed into a square containing magma)
  • Pushing an enemy into a wall damages them
  • Pushing an enemy into another creature forces them to attack it (triggering enemy infighting)

Your goal is to recover the Amulet of Yendor from depth 10 of the dungeon and escape with it by returning to the up stairs

Controls

  • Numpad / arrow keys / vi keys (hjklyubn) - movement and bumping enemies (8 direction)
  • . / 5 - wait a turn
  • x - examine enemies (once in examine mode, movement controls to select a square to examine and x or Esc to exit examine mode)
  • p - expand message log
  • ? - show help menu
  • Esc - exit mode/menu or return to main menu

Hints

  • Some enemies have unusual properties, so when first encountering a new enemy type it can be helpful to examine it (via the x key, see controls for details)
  • Some enemies inflict status conditions, which have the following effects:
    • Paralyzed: Can only take the wait action this turn (note that to prevent stunlocking you can't be paralyzed again next turn)
    • Poisoned: Will take damage until recovering by waiting
    • Confused: Moves are partially randomized for one turn, the actual move direction will be one of the 5 directions within 90 degrees of the attempted move direction
